As a Senior Scientist II (SSII) or Principal Scientist I (PSI) in our Translational Medicine Drug Disposition Discovery Biologics Bioanalytical group, you will join a dynamic and high-performing team at the Cambridge site. You will develop BA strategies to provide timely methods and high-quality data reports for drug discovery projects for a wide range of large molecule modality compounds. About the Role

The successful candidate will join an evolving, innovative and high performing global discovery biologics bioanalysis team and play a key role as a senior lab scientist for the Cambridge bioanalysis lab.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide internal lab based bioanalytical support investigating the PK/PD/ADA properties of large molecule and novel modality compounds.
  • Collaborate as a subject matter expert in bioanalysis with biotransformation and in vivo colleagues, as well as biologists and our biologics department.
  • Innovate with LBA technologies such as MSD ECLIA, Gyrolab and hybridization ELISA to optimize our BA workflows.
  • Explore automation and software related solutions to increase workflow efficiency.
  • Comply with local and Novartis-specific rules and regulations.   
  • Independently conceive experiments that implement project strategy
  • PSI: Utilize comprehensive and current knowledge in a specific scientific, technical, or development field to advance lab capabilities.
  • PSI: Provide mentorship and insights for junior associates for custom discovery PK/PD/ADA.
     

Essential requirements: Senior Scientist (SS) or Principal Scientist (PS)

  • Hands-on lab experience in quantitative ligand binding assays (MSD ECLIA, Gyrolab) is required. Added experience in PCR, SLRT qPCR and hybridization ELISA is preferred.
  • High motivation, curiosity and creativity and the ability to thrive in a matrixed work environment and communicate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • SSII - Agility to independently perform high quality and fit-for-purpose bioanalysis within short timelines. Emerging scientific leader.
  • PSI - Agility to independently lead bioanalytical strategies for high quality and fit-for-purpose bioanalysis within short timelines. Established scientific leader.
  • SSII experience - B.S. (6+ years) or M.S. (4+ years) or PhD degree (1+ years) of bioanalytical lab scientist in biotech or pharma industry.
  • PSI experience - B.S. (8+ years) or M.S. (5+ years) or PhD degree (2+ years) of bioanalytical lab scientist in biotech or pharma industry.

The salary for the SS II position is expected to range between $94,000 and $174,000 per year.

The salary for the PSI position is expected to range between $103,000 and 192,000 per year.

The final salary offered is determined based on factors like, but not limited to, relevant skills and experience, and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically. Novartis may change the published salary range based on company and market factors.

Your compensation will include a performance-based cash incentive and, depending on the level of the role, eligibility to be considered for annual equity awards.
