Location: Finland (some travelling is expected as this is a Nordic role)

This role is based in Finland. Novartis is unable to offer relocation support for this role: please only apply if this location is accessible for you.

Are you ready to join one of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies and contribute to ensuring that patients throughout the Nordic countries have access to innovative and life-changing medicines?

In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the leading the development and execution of strategic HEOR deliverables to support optimal reimbursement and patient access for Novartis’ innovative portfolio, across the Nordic countries. This involves leveraging HEOR expertise, with a strategic mindset to develop and drive HEOR projects and access tactics for designated products, in alignment with global and local strategies. Most of the work is focused on pre-launch activities; from early value & access assessments for products in pipeline, to creation and submission of HTA dossiers across the Nordic countries. You will serve as a link between the local teams and the international V&A and HEOR teams, including possible exposure to the early model development for selected products.

The Nordic HEOR Lead works closely with cross-functional teams, both locally and on a Nordic level, to address access related challenges and opportunities.

This position reports to the Nordic HEOR Director.

About the Role

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the efficient and timely development and localization of local HEOR deliverables in alignment with country Value & Access needs, to support successful patient access for the Nordic markets.
  • Strategic forward planning to generate robust payer evidence (treatment patterns, real-world efficiency, burden of illness, costing, epidemiology studies, etc.) to support access for our medicines, in close collaboration with Evidence Generation, Medical and Value & Access teams cross-Nordics.
  • Coordinate and drive development of HTA-dossiers; from feasibility, data generation, adaptation of health economic models and dossier writing, to post-submission dialogue with HTA-bodies.
  • Actively participate in cross-functional Nordic pre-launch squads to tailor access strategy, key value story and launch plans across the Nordic countries.
  • Maintain expertise and follow trends in HTA/HEOR methodology, to act as a Subject Matter Expert within this area.
  • Provide training and support cross functional teams to ensure effective use of health economic data, materials and tools.

Essential Requirements:

  • Education: Advanced degree (MSc/PhD), Health Economics/Economics, Epidemiology or related field.
  • Min. 3-5 years of experience with HTA submissions and economic modeling in a HEOR/HTA/Access role or with HTA-evaluations from the payer perspective.
  • In-depth HEOR technical expertise and experience in developing or adapting health economic models and conducting evidence generation.
  • Proficient Finnish and English, both written and spoken.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Experience managing projects that involve multiple teams and stakeholders.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Skilled in statistics / RWE / Outcomes research projects.
  • Previous therapeutic area knowledge from Oncology / Cardiovascular-Renal-Metabolic / Neurology / Immunology.
