About the Role
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement public affairs activities that align with business objectives
- Manage collaboration with key political stakeholders and represent Novartis in industry associations
- Prepare briefings for senior leadership and develop position papers and policy briefs
- Proactively monitor and analyze political and regulatory developments relevant to the healthcare and pharmaceutical sector
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Market Access, Legal, Medical, and Commercial teams
Essential Requirements
- Several years of experience in public affairs and policy on either corporate or agency side or within the government or administration; ideally within the pharmaceutical or healthcare sector.
- Deep understanding of Austria’s political and healthcare systems, including regulatory and legislative processes and market access.
- Proven ability to build alliances and engage with high-level stakeholders at both federal and regional levels, including government, parliament, and the social insurance sector.
- University degree in political science, law, communications, public health, or a related field.
- Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and navigate complex stakeholder landscapes.
- Proficiency in German and English (written and spoken)
What we offer

In accordance with Austrian law, we are obliged to disclose the minimum salary as stated in the collective bargaining agreement. For this position the minimum salary is € 69.662 /year (on a full-time basis). In most cases, the actual salary will be higher, as we strive to maintain a competitive position in the market and consider your previous experience, qualifications and individual competencies.
We are open for part-time and job-sharing models and support flexible and remote working where possible.
