Join us in shaping the future of clinical analytics through open-source innovation and impactful data science. As a Snr. Developer in Advanced Quantitative Sciences, you’ll build tools that empower clinical trial teams—streamlining workflows, enhancing reporting, and modernizing user experiences. Collaborating across interdisciplinary teams, you’ll drive innovation, champion best practices, and help transform how we analyze and communicate clinical insights.
About the Role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain R packages to support data engineering, analysis, automation, and reporting workflows
- Design and deploy Shiny applications for interactive dashboards and data exploration
- Collaborate with analytics teams to translate requirements into reproducible tools and code
- Lead demos, pilots, and training sessions to drive tool adoption across teams
- Engage with users to identify opportunities for modernization and continuous improvement
- Promote best practices in data science and software development across the organization
- Document tools and processes to support inclusive modernization efforts
- Participate in open-source communities to foster external collaboration and innovation
Essential Requirements
- Master’s degree in a quantitative or computational science discipline
- Minimum 4 years of experience as an R developer in a professional setting
- Expertise in data manipulation using tidyverse and data visualization with ggplot2 and plotly
- Proven ability to build production-grade R packages with documentation and testing frameworks
- Hands-on experience deploying and maintaining R applications in production environments
- Advanced proficiency in Shiny app development and deployment
- Strong foundation in software development practices including Git, CI/CD, and code reviews
- Collaborative mindset with a solution-oriented approach and strong written English skills
Desirable Requirements
- Understanding of the drug development process and regulatory requirements for digital tools
- Experience with Quarto, workflow automation, or metadata-driven reporting; participation in open-source pharma projects such as R Consortium, pharmaverse, openpharma, or openstatware
